Chelsea residents looking for a primary care practice have another nearby option to explore. North End Waterfront Health, known as NEW Health, announced three additions to its medical staff this summer: Dr. Catherine Yu, Dr. Patricia Guglietta, and family nurse practitioner Bianca Dias-Pigott. The center says its new-patient outreach includes adults and children who live or work in Chelsea, alongside Boston, Cambridge, Everett, and Somerville.

The expansion brings together adult medicine, pediatric care, and family nursing. NEW Health’s current website continues to welcome new patients, although availability depends on the provider and appointment requested. For Chelsea families, the announcement offers a reason to ask about establishing care at the center’s North End or Charlestown locations.

One of the additions already has a substantial Chelsea connection. According to the announcement, pediatrician Dr. Patricia Guglietta spent more than 20 years at MGH Chelsea, including serving as the refugee program’s sole pediatrician. Her experience includes complex pediatric care, school advocacy, and working with refugee families. NEW Health lists her among its pediatric providers, whose services include checkups, immunizations, health screenings, developmental monitoring, and urgent care visits.

Dr. Catherine Yu brings internal medicine training and additional training in infectious diseases. Her Mass General Brigham profile confirms that she earned her medical degree at the University of Miami, completed an internal medicine residency at Baystate Medical Center, and completed an infectious disease fellowship at UMass. She is board certified in internal medicine and treats adults.

Bianca Dias-Pigott’s background spans Brazil and the United States. Her official biography identifies her as a family nurse practitioner fluent in English and Portuguese. She earned a master’s degree in nursing from Duke University and completed clinical training at NEW Health involving children, adults, older patients, and obstetric and gynecologic care. She is listed on both the center’s adult and pediatric primary care pages.

The center’s adult primary care services include routine physicals, preventive care, diagnosis and treatment, and specialist referrals. Patients work with a primary care team rather than relying solely on one clinician. NEW Health is a federally qualified health center affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Medical Center.

Language access is another practical consideration. NEW Health says it provides medical interpretation at no cost for patients who need it, including people with limited English proficiency and deaf or hard-of-hearing patients. Its staff interpreter languages include Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian, with additional support available through MGH.

To ask about becoming a patient, call 617-643-8000 for the North End site at 332 Hanover Street, Boston, or 857-238-1100 for Charlestown at 15 Tufts Street. Readers can also submit an appointment request online. The form is a request, not a confirmed appointment, and is subject to availability. Ask which providers are accepting patients and whether the practice accepts your insurance before arranging a visit.
