The city plans to transform Chelsea Square into a lively soccer hub, hosting Fiesta de FĂștbol with large-screen matches, local cuisine, live music, and cultural programs.
Fidel Maltez, Chelseaâs City Manager, notes that around 70% of residents are Latino and 53% are foreign-born, reflecting the city's vibrant diversity.
The celebration aims to boost local businesses and inspire residents to reconnect with public spaces.
Supported by a $175,000 grant from the Healey-Driscoll Administration, Chelsea will enhance event operations, marketing, and safety.
Activities include soccer tournaments for adults, youth, and alumni throughout May and June, fostering strong community spirit.
Easy public transit access is available via the MBTA Silver Line and multiple bus routes, as parking at Chelsea Square is limited.
