Chelsea's DiSilva Fruit to Showcase Local Innovation at New England Produce Expo |
Morning Kiss Organic and Bright Bounty brands will debut new packaging and host charity mini-golf tournament at August 17-18 event |
Chelsea-based DiSilva Fruit is bringing a taste of local innovation to the New England Produce Council's annual Produce, Floral & Food Service Expo on August 17-18 at the Encore Boston Harbor in Everett. The company, which operates two facilities in Chelsea's New England Produce Center, will showcase its Morning Kiss Organic and Bright Bounty brands with an interactive booth experience that combines product launches, patriotic celebration, and community giving.
New Packaging Makes Its Debut
The highlight of DiSilva Fruit's exhibit will be the unveiling of new clamshell packaging for stem and leaf mandarins. The redesigned containers aim to give consumers greater convenience, freshness, and portability—addressing growing demand for produce that travels well from store to lunchbox.
The new packaging reflects broader trends in the produce industry toward consumer-friendly formats that reduce food waste while maintaining quality. DiSilva Fruit's just-in-time inventory management system, which ensures produce is freshly packed to order, supports this commitment to freshness.
Fun with a Purpose: The Produce Masters Tournament
Beyond product showcases, DiSilva Fruit is bringing interactive fun to the trade show floor with the "Produce Masters Tournament"—a three-hole, par-9 mini golf course that invites attendees to test their putting skills while connecting with company representatives.
The mini-golf attraction serves a dual purpose: creating memorable experiences for visitors while raising dollars for local charities. While specific beneficiary organizations weren't named in the announcement, DiSilva Fruit has a documented history of community support in Chelsea. Since 2020, the company—along with sister companies Gold Bell and Arrowfarms—has donated more than 300,000 pounds of fresh produce to local food banks and community organizations, including Chelsea Collaborative, Muslim Community Link, and Food Link.
Celebrating America's 250th
The booth will embrace a patriotic theme recognizing America's 250th anniversary, celebrating the nation's agricultural heritage and the growers, suppliers, and partners who sustain the fresh produce industry. Guests can expect festive décor that honors both innovation and tradition in American agriculture.
"We're excited to come together as a group to showcase new products while creating a booth experience that's interactive and memorable," said Alden Guptill of Bright Bounty. "The New England Produce Council Expo is a tremendous opportunity to connect with customers and industry partners, and we're proud to celebrate America's 250th alongside the produce community."
