KMK Cakes: From a Home Kitchen to a Chelsea Corner Bakery |
Flor and Eder Rosas bake custom cakes, tamales and Latin-inspired breakfasts on a Chelsea corner |
KMK Cakes Bakery & Café started with cakes and cookies baked in a home kitchen. Today, it opens at 6 a.m. on weekdays, serving coffee, breakfast and custom cakes at 173 Washington Avenue in Chelsea.
The bakery belongs to Flor and Eder Rosas, who call themselves "two Mexican entrepreneurs with a passion for baking." Their website says KMK has been family-owned since 2015. Latin flavors and traditions shape much of what they make.
The menu runs from breakfast sandwiches, empanadas, croissants and coffee to tamales, tortas and artisan bread. The city's Discover Chelsea guide calls KMK "a classic corner location that has revitalized its menu." The bakery’s drinks brochure includes mangonadas and iced tres leches lattes.
Cakes are still the main event. KMK makes custom cakes for events and celebrations. Need one fast? Its Express Cakes service can have a cake ready in 48 hours.
Planning something bigger? The bakery says it offers more than 200 catering options. Its ezCater page lists trays of empanadas, tamales, sandwiches, churros and tres leches cake.
Customer testimonials on KMK’s website praise the fresh sandwiches, custom cakes and friendly service.
The bakery’s website lists hours of 6 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m.–7 p.m. Sunday. Confirm current hours before visiting. Call 617-466-0687, or order online through the bakery's website. KMK also delivers. |
