Katz Bagel Bakery has been a Chelsea institution since 1938, now run by three generations of the Katz family at their original Park Street location. The bakery invented the pizza bagel in the early 1970s, which today accounts for half of all sales.

Beyond their signature creation, Katz offers hand-rolled bagels, challah, babka, and classic baked goods made with traditional methods that have earned recognition from Boston media. Boston officials and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released a draft plan to protect Boston Harbor from coastal flooding, with projects that could prevent $41 billion in damage by 2100. The Chelsea 5K Road Race is making history with its first wheelchair division, opening the event to adaptive athletes across Massachusetts and New England. Ralph's Coffee has opened its first Massachusetts location in Boston's Seaport District. The café, which operates 30 locations nationwide, serves La Colombe Coffee Roasters and offers a menu of coffee, teas, sandwiches, sweet treats, and soft-serve ice cream.
